Larger associations in major metros include positions focused on advocacy, technical issues, membership marketing and communications. Smaller associations have fewer staff and more opportunities for a jack of all trades. All positions have in common a desire to serve the builders, remodelers, developers and trade contractors in the greatest industry there is — because our members build the American Dream.

The serves the Bitterroot Valley comprised of Ravalli County and based in Hamilton, Mont.
Job Description
The Executive Director serves as the chief administrative officer of the Bitterroot Building Industry Association (BBIA). This position manages daily operations, finances, membership, and events to ensure the Association’s goals are met. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to implement policies, promote member engagement, and strengthen the building industry’s presence in the Bitterroot Valley. This is an on-site position based at the BBIA office in Hamilton, Mont. with some travel required for meetings, conferences, and industry events.
Position Responsibilities
- Oversee daily administration, bookkeeping, and office operations.
- Develop annual budgets and manage financial activity using Quickbooks.
- Support the Board of Directors through meeting preparation, minutes, and reporting.
- Plan and coordinate all BBIA events, including the Home & Garden Show, Tour of Homes, meetings, and educational programs.
- Lead membership recruitment, retention, and communication efforts.
Position Requirements
- Experience in office or association management, event coordination, and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with the building or construction industry preferred.
Position Details
The position is part-time (20–25 hours/week) in the office, which is located at 302 N. 1st Street, Hamilton, Mont. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
